Are scanned photos of toned coins deceiving? s-l1600 (4).jpg s-l1600 (5).jpg

I had scans, but yes, I would buy it. If the price was right. That is the big question here, and the info that was left out... lol.

Scanned photos show good detail, but not how the coin looks. I would buy it if the price were right.

It belongs to me, not trying to sell it. When I saw this coin I wasn't even looking for a Morgan, but it caught my eye. I knew scans tend to bring out details and the fields of this coin are clean, I kinda just threw out a bid not thinking that I would win it, but I did. I have a few nice coins that were purchased from scanned photos, I'm guessing that people are just scared of them. Made me wonder if everyone saw something that I didn't. I don't have photos of the coin as I'm not near it at the moment, but I will post them here as soon as I can.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I wouldn't call it a "toned coin." Scans are not the best picture-taking method, because they just can't show the luster accurately. If I were in the market for something like this, the picture shows the detail enough that I'd be okay buying it, but you can get better pictures these days with an iphone.
