So I bought this 1902-O Morgan dollar than Im really thinking of sending to PCGS for grading. I got it for $60 but I think it should be at least an MS-64 and perhaps higher. Am I dreaming - or do I have a chance? What to you all think is would grade as?

64 max, I'd say. But what about the lighter area on the cheek? Scuffed or just lighting?

Ok. I was hoping that maybe the images were wrong and you did infact get a 1903-O. That'd be a good buy for $60 :)

There are some light bag marks across the cheek that look worst in the photo then they are.

It's baggy, but nice. It might make 64, but I'm not the greatest at Morgans.

Trouble is, between the $60 you paid, and the $35 to grade it, you'll have negative equity. I just searched sold ebay for 1902-O slabbed at 64, and it seems the average selling price was $65-80.

I'd leave it as it is, and just enjoy it.

I'd like to see more pics of the field under her chin, with the light coming from a different angle. It looks a little hazy like maybe there are hairlines there, but i can't tell.

Does this show you what you'd like to see?

With the scruffs on the cheek, I wouldn't go higher than 63. No worth fees even if it 64s. 1902-P is better than the "O" though.

a little. it looks to me like there is a patch of hairlines under liberty's chin. either that or some hazy toning interfering with the luster. Toning is ok, hairlines might get a details grade at a TPG.

I think you have a nice coin, but not worth certification costs. If you really want to play the slabbing game, anacs is cheaper and I personally think their grading is good on BU Morgans in this range.

Very nice coin but I would think you paid all the money for it.

    Good strike for an "O"

Nice coin, but not a chance it will grade as high as MS64. Except you consider submitting it to NCG or PGSC :)
