Hello everyone! I aquired this 1883 silver Bulgarian coin today for 2 dollars. What do you all think of it, and does it hold more value than what I paid? Thanks!!
Melt is $1.11 https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/bulgaria-50-stotinki-km-6-1883-cuid-1044548-duid-1291062 It's hard for me to tell the grade with your coin in the holder. My guess is it has probably been cleaned.
NGC says 3 million minted. If not cleaned, it's high retail at $4.50 in VF-20. (That translates to $3). Fair price.
Looks nice enough albeit probably cleaned. I would've probably paid 2 dollars for it. I wouldn't pay more than that through probably.
Where else can you hold 130 years of history for two bucks? Nice catch. And I still say the dealers bargain box is the best deal in numismatics.
