Alright guys, went metal detecting today, and found this barber dime. I hit it with my pin point and scratched the surface. Id say without the scratches it would be a modest vf40 thats suppost to be 90 bucks. So what is it now g4 or worse what would you grade it. And pay for it i guess. Im a big boy so feel free to hurt my feelings with your honest opinions.

BTW it is a 1905 normal O not a micro.

When you write that you hit it with your pin point, does that mean that you were the one who put all the scratches on the obverse? If so, I guess you did that while attempting to remove dirt. I don't know what you might be able to sell it for, but you are correct that it has lost some value. Still, a mighty cool find.

I wasn't attempting to clean it I was trying to find it in the hole, and it hit it. Sliver coins come out of dirt very clean

That is a pretty cool find. Scratching a coin when you're digging it out of the ground is pretty common. It takes some practice to get it out of there while minimizing the damage.
