I am a young numismatist and am always looking for advice on this hobby and other aspects of coins. I used to be a member of a popular coin forum but I will not mention the name of it here. I need to know if someone can help me out with a project I am doing, please PM me. It is for school and has to do with coins. This forum is not the place to discuss what happened on other forums - good or bad - since the purposes of this forum do not include badmouthing anyone or discussing the merits or demerits of other forums.. I really like this forum and hope that I can make some good friends here, as well as get some needed advice about this hobby. Thanks.
DUDE! Didn't the moderators ALREADY tell you to quit with the talking about this? Just because you don't mention any names doesn't mean you've found a loophole!
I think the two are the same. Changed name to keep the topic going after Roy's warning. I may be wrong but I don't think so. Too many similarities, "unfair Banning", "other coin forum", "project", etc.. If you are indeed a different person, then I apologize but Roy's warnings should apply here also!
Come on guys, he's young and don't you remember how dramatic everything can be for the young. I'm just worried how our new member is going to react when he starts dating and he gets stood up for the first time. Not that it ever happened to me, um.........
Cool ! I didn't know that we could sign on under more than one name ! Let's see, Apollo, Dionysus, Thor, ...
Bacchus, the god of wine is already the tops in my book. Why bother with any lesser gods unless they have one for hops from the city of Ur that I didn't know about.
Just so you know , everyone, that is not me. I am trying to make a fresh start, if you don't believe this, PM me and I will tell you who I Think this person is.
Well, I read up on Hermes from a web site containing a description of characters from Greek mythology, and I have to say that his family seems a bit dysfunctional. He did, however, appear on American coinage (sort of; Liberty looking like Mercury) which is more than I can say for Dionysus/Bacchus.
Bacchus was, among other things, the god of "adult beverages." "The Star-Spangled Banner" was a poem by Francis Scott Key set to the music of a much older English drinking song called "To Anacreon in Heaven." Tradition calls Anacreon - a Greek poet - a ladies man and a real partier. Thus, Bacchus was his god, and Anacreon inspired the US national anthem. So every time Bacchus logs on, we have to stand up and salute!
