Frnds, I have lots of banknotes in my Collection and so I am looking for some gud storage of them. Currently I keep all the Currencies in an Pouch, but now I want to change. Please inform me whether Currency(Banknote)-Album is a good Choice ? Currency-Album : An Album having Transparent Plastic Sheets to Place notes inside them. I fear the Notes will stick to the Plastic after some time….. Do any-one use here Currency-Album? IF yes,do they face any stick problem ? or any other problem ? Also, You all can suggest me some gud method of storing the currency Except the Album. Help-Up !
For the random notes that I have, both world and US, I place them in a 3 ring binder. There are 2 different sizes of pages to pick from. One that holds 4 smaller size notes, and 1 that holds 3 larger size notes. I've found that this works very well and the pages are archival safe. You can pick them up at various hobby stores, coin shops, coin shows or any of the on-line supply places such as JPs corner Good luck!
I have NEVER had a banknote stick to a sleeve in an album or an individual sleeve. I think it would be very important to store them away from a heat source or the sun as that probably could and would make a mess. And, by the same token, moisture would probably play a very messy role in how well your notes stand the test of time. With proper care and storage the sleeves will do just fine. Actually we don't have much choice at this time do we?
Well, Is their any-way to tell if the Plastic used if of Proper quality by Touching with hand OR by any other means ? I really dont Trust the Claims of the seller!
I only use Mylar currency sleeves. If I could find a binder made of Mylar I would use that, but so far I haven’t. In the old days, before PVC was full understood, many banknotes were ruined with oils soaking out of the plastic. I still have a couple notes that wreak of plastic 20 years later, although thankfully the damage is not physical, only smell-related.
