I recently became interested in collecting coins. Ive began looking through all my change for rare or cool coins. I want to go to the bank and ask for some rolls of change and dig through them to see if there are any rare or unusual coins. Is this a good idea? What is the best way to go about starting collecting coins?

Welcome to CT, I just recently started roll searching again. Yesterday I searched about 18 penny rolls and found 3 wheat cents and some 70's proofs. Just got another 18 rolls today and can't wait to get home to check through them. Going to the banks and buying as many rolls as you can afford is a great way to get allot of coins not to mention its a revolving process, keep what you want, cash the rest and turn it around for more rolls.

Welcome to CT, Coin Roll Hunting is a fun way to start a collection and to add to it, get Half dollars look for everything before 1971, because it has silver in them, I have recently found a 1889 IHP. I have a TD Bank account to use their coin counting machine for free. I also get rolls of nickels and search for buffalos and war nickels. Spend most of your cash and you will have fun and a profit :)
