I received a bank strap of $1 bills yesterday. They were mostly brand new 2021 Atlanta and St. Louis (H-C and F-F blocks). There were a lot of consecutive notes, but no more than 4 before a large gap. However, these two beauties were in there.
I collect star notes that I find in circulation. So, this was great for me. Star notes, also called replacement notes, are printed to replace notes that are rejected for any number of reasons. There are far less star notes printed than regular runs.
Thank you @Jersey magic man , I had absolutely no idea. This appears to be a complex subject and beyond what I ever will encounter ( apart from US ATM's). I am always impressed by such specialisation.
Is there any collectability and or profit in the short run? I might not have much time left. I only collect the older notes that are also star notes.
