Since it's just a short drive for me I'll be there on Friday. First Stop: Angel Dee's to say "Hi!" to Andy and Alynne. They are the ones that I bought my entire FE/IHC set from. Second Stop: Chris McCawley's table. I'll be looking for either: -- a Draped Bust half cent, or -- a Draped Bust/Classic Head large cent One reasonably good coin from them generally completes my shopping. I can be in and out in less than 2 hours.
Only two hours? I'm the type to stick around and chat as much as possible, even at the tiny shows I go to
It'll be Saint Patrick's Day. I'll have to get back to the Pub to celebrate. That's takes a LOT longer. I may need the rest of the day. Not really. I don't drink that much anymore. Never have had a ticket involving alcohol (but I should've). Don't want to start now. Too expensive. But I WILL manage to get down one Guinness. And maybe there'll be some Irish stew available.
I'm going to pass this one....I messaged John Call a week ago...he won't be working this event. Has other obligations. The folks there I buy from ...I can see any show here in the area. Parking is $20 even at the church...and dealers are less likely to give you a good price as tables are costly. Mike are you digging out and coming down? BTW I told John ...if he wanted to impress the bosses..make reservations at Tio's Pepe's .... the next Whitman show ...im sure you'll agree... But it is st Paddy's day this one will go with the corned beef, cabbage and potatoes
I have probably attended my last Baltimore show. My wife is very concerned about crime in the city, and flying is a bear these days.
Great show today. Everyone was buying, unlike the last show. Also, numerous dealers without prompting remarked how NGC recently got a lot tighter with their grades and also with detailing coins.
John any show in Baltimore you wish to attend...just let me know...im <4 miles from the airport and 10 miles up to the city. I be more than happy to pick you up at bwi...and escort you to the show....and back. I can assure you as a South Baltimore boy born and raised.... you'll have no issues! That's a promise. Paddy Believe me you won't be the first member here that has accepted this offer.
Thank you @Paddy54! My wife’s issue is with after she gets into the city. She used to into many parts of it. She used to take the Charm bus and all of that. The only place the hotel warned her about was the zoo. We loved the restaurants in Little Italy. The trouble is with the increased crime. It’s a darn shame because the city has done so much with the convention center and the Inner Harbor area that a comparatively small number of thugs are allowed to ruin it. My niece lives in New York City across from Central Park, but my wife does not want to go there for the same reason.
