Saw this on auction with an opener of 65 but let the auction close unbid then sent the seller an offer for 50... he took it.... Pictures are crappy but I think i did darn well for the price One more slot in my album filled 3 cent silver type II 1854
Nice! But there's no room for profit. I have it between $40-$50. 1854 Silver Three Cent Coin Value Prices, Photos & Info (usacoinbook.com)
PCGS, NGC and recent auctions put it at about twice that RAW... Slabbed type 2s start at 90 for piss poor "details" examples... even detailed this one beats the pants off of any i've seen under 130ish.. (ok a few auctions i lost by being cheap were not much higher then this one) of course the bad pics could be hiding some horrible "detail" but I've been trying to fill my type 2 and 3 in both my slabbed and album type sets for some time now, and my album will be very happy with this one for the price lol
Nice pick up weasel....the 54 a lower mintage ,as well todays market on these fish scales easy a $85-110. Coin. The prices as well a sudden popularity makes scoring a nice specimen under a hundred difficult at times. No varieties on the 54.
I have to call it a lil higher @Cheech9712 but then I have it in hand, so i can see the double line around the star is complete and the reverse I would put closer to XF so overall I'd have to call her an F-15 minimum with NGC conservation she might even score a 20... we'll see in a week or so (plus a month or so of waiting lol) when i send off my next NGC submission
