Spider - Both of those chemicals can be found in many things in many different forms. So I don't know if there is a simple answer to your question. What I can do though is tell you if a particular holder is safe or not - if you have one in mind.
Well, I use polystyrene tubes for low value circulated duplicates, but I wouldn't put anything else in tubes because of the potentials for damage to the edges from rubbing on the tubes themselves, and to the high points of the designs from bouncing around and rubbing adjacent coins, as well as possible dings from coin edges hitting coin surfaces when dropped into the tubes.
I would agree with Roy's comments about coin tubes. But to answer your question, no the chemicals used to make the plastic will not hurt the coins.
