I'd say it's a bad coin and an even worse picture. I'd stay away from it; it's apparent the seller is trying to hide something. Unless the seller is blind; there's no way they would think those photos are acceptable. -LTB
lol i used some online software to change the brightness. i also looked at some of his other coins. i dunno what hes doin but alot of his pics look like that even tho hes got 12k+ feedback. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350329433865 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350329433926 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350329433884 it doesnt really matter tho. he wants to much for a starting bid on coins you cant make out in his photos.
It is sellers like this, as to way i do not use Ebay. I did early on when i did not know much about coins. Thanks to many many people, most of which are here, i took there advice and bought books, read alot and realized what a huge mistake ebay can be. Realize i am not saying ebay IS a mistake but rather can be. As a rule i do not sue EBay for coins anymore. I do use it from time to time if i need some supplies, but that is it, or maybe a book. A good friend of mine said it is best to have to coin in hand when buying it, and you know, he is correct. At least I think so anyway Regards, Stan
Looks like he's using a flatbed scanner, I have the same problem, they blast the coin with too much light which kinda blurs out most detail and does funny things with the colors.
What really gets me is there were 2 bids and someone actually purchased that thing, whatever it really was. Of course there is another possibility. Someone I know told me they have freinds that bid on thier stuff on ebay and actually buy something just to make it look like they are a really big dealer. As to that THING, why would would anyone really, really buy that?
probably bad photo...seller has way to many positives ,plus 99.9 rating. also offers 5 day return. I doubt seller would need sell a problem coin and risk negative feedback
Bad photo. All the light being reflected by the white 2X2's is causing the scanner/camera he is using to reduce the exposure. The 2X2 still comes out a bright white and the coin comes out badly under exposed (dark).
Total gamble with the bad pics, but he does offer a return policy. I have gotten some nice coins very cheap off 'bay that had horrible pics and or descriptions that looked like they were written by a child.
