Howdy everyone!! Back from Germany.... See a bunch of new post I will have to read on Tuesday after the Holiday!! Picked up no notes in Germany..but a colleague did have a 1 Mark coin that is no longer valid.. RickieB
Rick,I bet you had a good time over in Germany.Did you manage to pick up any of the commemorative 2 Euro coins in change? I got a loose set of the 9 coins from Ireland, which has the Treaty of Rome 2 Euros in it for this year. Aidan.
Hope you had a good time! That coin is still "valid" in the sense that you would get 51 cent for it (1 euro = 1.95583 mark), but taking it to a Bundesbank branch office may be a little cumbersome ... Christian
By the way, one of those just made it to Australia. Was kind of funny - I was in Alaska last week (currently I'm in California), and there was that couple from AU in our tour group. She collects coins (just whatever she picks up from circulation) but had never seen a euro coin before. I happened to have a Treaty of Rome piece with me and gave her that. Later she came and gave me some Australian coins. A Euro/Aussie swap in the US, hehe. Christian
Christian,I was very pleased when I got my loose set of the 2007 Irish Euro coins in the mail. They're still in the individual packets. The Treaty of Rome coin is the one that stands out. Aidan.
Howdy Aidan... I cant say that I did...I had plenty of Euro pocket change..2 Euros as well... I did not have the time I wanted to seek out coins dur to business. It was 12-14 hrs a day nose to the grind stone!! Thanks for asking..... RickieB
