the only one worth keeping is the silver war nickel. The rest you can toss in the coin machine

Just keep the pre 1960 unless you find proofs and just take any other Nickels and throw them back towards your bankroll to get more to search.

Unless its a war nickel, buffalo nickel, liberty nickel, or a nice ms au example of a pre 60 I'd toss them. If I kept every pre 60 I find I'd have a straight hoard.

i guess being it is your collection, it's about what YOU want. i have noticed if you try to collect to much at one time then you run out of room pretty quick

Keep 'em all. Haha. Just kidding. I would keep the 40s ones and 50s, only the sixties ones if you are filling in a coin folder or something. Good luck with future searching!

I pulled ten rolls from my nickel stash and searched through them. I actually found a 1945-S War Nickel.
Also found a 1941 (pre-silver), a few late 1940's and some 1950's. I'm not a coin collector, but, will set these coins aside.

Agreed. If it isn't at least EF AND pre 1959 I no longer bother with the Jefferson nickels (except for the silver ones of course). I used to (for 30 years) horde them all for the nickel in them, then Congress banned melting them, so I dumped most of them.
