    Here is a very beautifull medieval coin from Italy....

    AV Saluto d'oro ND Naples Mint
    Carlo II of Anjou 1285-1309
    obv. Arms of Anjou
    rev. Archangel Gabriel with Virgin Mary 2432236l.jpg

    Thats probably the "only" good fever to be infected with:):):):):):):):):)!
    I just got the silver one too, now that I started into Roman AR coins.....
    However, I must say I kinda felt fevered all this Summer, we are having a wicked heat wave since early June, on the plus side though....amazing tan.

    I've had silver fever badly this past year, to the tune of 36 silver coins in 10 months. I warn you, silver fever can be just as bad as your gold fever.

    Nice, as I recall those coins are a decent size too. Gold fever huh? My head might not be hurting but my wallet will. :D

    Thanks everyone for neat comments....yes the reverse was the artistic talent of a really great engraver. Thats sadly lacking in our modern era coins.

    I would like to see some writeup accompanying each coin. You post such nice coins that we've never seen, it's a shame we don't get a little back story accompanying the coins. A small thing, I know.
