Here is my only coin from the reign of Pedro I "The Cruel" 1350-69AD.
    26mm. 4.53 g. Sevilla Mint

At this time in history, Spain was a turbulent region of warring kingdoms/ other territoy under Islamic rulers. 2028454l.jpg

    Thanks all!

For a nasty ruler, his coins are very interesting indeed. I am trying to get another AV Dobla with his portrait on obv. He also issued massive 10 and 12 Doblas, these would have been in range of 44 to 52 grams of gold.

Do me a favour and promise me that you will not collect any late Roman coins. Trust me, there is nothing good there, just a bunch of repetitive VOT XX coins, nothing that you should concern your self with. :angelic:

Too late dude, if he hasn't yet he's going to now (I think he has a Constantius II gold?). He's already got me with his Visigothic and Byzantine stuff

Actually, I started my "ancients" by getting into late Roman/Byzantine gold coins....have around 50-60 pieces. Its the Aurei that I really like...sadly, poor snooks like me can't afford many...have only eight of these.

Jesus, if he is poor then I guess I am a peasant who lives off the harvest!

That's one of these fine top pieces of Gothic art, a great coin to make anybody envious.
