masterswimmer A Caretaker, can't take it with me

A lifelong buddy of mine bought this IHC and told me about it after the fact. He has 2 weeks to return it if not satisfied.

Hoping to get some of the great ones input on this.

I can tell you that the barcode scans correctly, and the cert lookup matches. ANACS does not have images.

Looks honest enough to me.......seems the schnooks only target the top two TPG'ers, but what the devil do I know?

Looks fine to me. A little darker than I’d prefer. I’ve never seen a fake soapbox

I figured it was honest also, but being a key date, VF30 with a >$500 price tag it's prudent to confirm the authenticity.

I'm hoping our esteemed Mr Young chimes in and concurs.

Thank you @KBBPLL @green18 and @Mainebill for your expertise.

Nice circam look to the obverse, I see nothing wrong with it.

The MM between the photos look to be in different positions and strength.
Could be just the angle of the photos.

Some of the nicks look like they are on the slab and not the coin. Nice coin I like it. I'm also an ANACS fan, thanks for sharing.

I bought one recently through ebay. It looked good and it was graded by NGC. Everything seems to be on the up and up to little ole me. I paid too much ($475) and it was a VF20. It was the next to last IHC that I needed. I hate to think how much I'm going to pay for the 1877 in any grade.
Let me know how you all are doing on your IHC collection. I did get an 1877 4-set of stamps and an 1877 copper cup place-mat, but I don't think they count.
