Is there a resource to find out what specific year re-strikes were produced? I have read up on the original but am curious as to when this might have been struck.

I know of this resource for the Silver 1780 Thaler restrike:

I haven't seen anything similar for gold restrikes (they might all be too similar to tell even an approximate date).

As far as I know, your coin, an 8/20, is not a re-strike: Austria-Hungary partially adopted the Latin Monetary Union (LMU) at the end of 1867 and starting in 1870 all trade gold was dual denomination. 4 forint or florin/10 francs and 8 forint or florin/20 francs as per the standard LMU weights and measures. As this was the new trade currency they took the place of the ducat. Essentially the 8/20 was the new ducat and the 4/10 the half ducat.

If you are asking about re-strikes of gold Ducats of Franz Joseph I, none of the 1915 Ducats were struck in 1915. Those are re-strikes.

This guy. Minted from 1920 to 1936 I believe. I'll look up research I did on it.

    Didn't know that the 8/20 issue from 1892 was a re-strike.:sorry:

Learned something new . Thank you @ZoidMeister and @expat

Just because it's a "restrike" does NOT imply that it is "modern." Austria made a few restrikes after the demise of Frantz Joseph I and the passing of the old feudal form of governance leading into WWI.

Franz Joseph I certainly was an interesting old character.

I have heard this also. It is why it would be interesting to find out when their re-strikes were done
