Who has seen the coins which describe the koala as Australia's teddy bear? The coins come from a British Commonwealth country called the Hutt River Province Principality. There is a silver $5 & a silver 1 Oz. bullion piece, which was struck at the New Queensland Mint in America.

Despite popular belief, the koala is not a bear at all.It is a marsupial, which is the same family of animals as the kangaroo, which also appears on H.R.P.P. medal-coins as well.

Eddyk, these pieces are listed in the 1993 edition of the 'Unusual World Coins' catalogue, but not in the 2005 edition, which are both Krause books.
