I've been interested in ancient coins of late especially roman imperial period. I would like to add a Julius or Augustus denarius to my collection. Here is a coin I am wanting to purchase. Is it worth 270 bucks? Is it a replica? Thanks for info. It's seems like there was a crack in the die and it is a bit off enter but I'd give it a VF grade. What do you think? I've been doing research but its hard to be sure.

If this is the type you want then its a very common coin and I would wait till a better one comes along. If I had to choose between the two then the first one.

Thanks for advice. I probably should have posted this in the ancient forum.

I know the dealer this coin is being sold from. He's a good guy but considering its off center & the flan flaw on the obverse, no I dont think it's worth the price.

The second one isnt that bad when looked at again. It has decent toning & the bankers mark on the reverse isnt too bothersome. It really depends on the cost of that one and if you can wait a bit longer for a better one to surface.
