    Hi all,

    i am focusing in Hadrian as you friends know, this one i had to buy from a fellow detector friend.
    probably found in France.

    Reference.
    SNGCop 1190, SGI 5396. RPC 1, 1711

    Obv. KAISAROS SEBASTOU,
    Bare head of Augustus right.

    BASILEWS ROIMHTALKOU,
    Jugate heads of King Rhoemetalkes & Queen Pythodoris right

    Very nice coins, and an important part of early Imperial history, although my understanding is that these are very regional issues. A metal detecting find in France would be highly unusual, but certainly not impossible - a coin lost by a traveler that had passed through Thrace?

    I had a very finely-engraved example of the two-bust types last year (sans queen)...

    i recently bid on a triple bust and lost...at first i thought you were the winner of the auction until i saw it was a detector find.

    this type is pretty up there on my list...nice pick up oki~!
