My auction wins from the last Triskeles Auctions arrived this morning. The byzantine lot that I won is outstanding, with some really nice desert patina on some of the coins. I'll spend some quality time taking some pics of those coins. I did get CLIO'd on a few, rare byzantine coins :(, but here are some of the other lots that I managed to snag. More to come later:

Obv: D N IVSTINI-ANVS PP AVG; diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Justinian I right
Rev: Large K; to left, T-H/Є-Ч/O/P arranged either side of cross; Γ to the right

That first Antioch has style that looks a couple hundred years more realistic than what we usually see. Good group!

QG, your Antioch pentanummia has a cross above the head. For a site on those unusual coins with crosses in that position (which are only a small fraction of early Byzantine coppers), see here:

Here is one of the finest cross-above-head coins I have seen:
    SB100_0789.jpg

    Justin I. Antioch. Sear 100.
    30 mm. 17.98 grams. 6:00.
    Bold cross above head.
    Officina Delta.
Higher than usual relief on portrait.

Ken Dorney Yea, I'm Cool That Way...

If I had noticed the half follis I would have bid against you! Its a better type and in a grade and style rarely seen on Byzantine coins. What a wonderful find!
