I was looking at an auction site (Not EBAY) and have been to a couple of local coins shops. I have seen large bags of rolled wheat cents. If anyone here purchases large lots like that what is your general rule of thumb for price per penny. It seems the going price is 5 to 6 1/2 cents per penny. For example, a lot of 500 rolled wheat cents realized $32.50.

I know there are factors such as the dates in the lot and I know that there is a 99.999999999% chance they have been searched numerous times, but what do you guys think is a fair price per piece on large lots. I am thinking more around the $.04/piece is more reasonable. Thoughts?

$.04 at the most should be paid for the wheat cent coins, they are so common and picked through that its not even, to me, worth the time to purchase them in bulk anymore unless its from a coin dealer. Or if your bored and rich and dont care for what you spend on coins.

Well let me jump right in. I agree that no more then 4-5 cents each or around 6-7 @ pound. I still buy some on occasion and if you would like to own lots of 56D/57D/58D test your source first. Randy
