EF-40 details. The field looks like it has a bunch of tiny abrasions -- maybe cleaning?

I can't tell from the picture, but do you see any remaining luster?

ME TOO. Try to remember that an AU is supposed to mean Almost or About Uncirculated. This is close but I too will stay with the XF or EF name.
Don't bother to have it graded unless your planning on selling it though. If that is for you, keep it as is.
Just the OPINION of a coin, not a slab, collector.

IMO, I don't think that the tiny lines in the fields are from cleaning abraision. It just looks like the normal wear of a circulated coin. The lines are not parallel that would make one think it was polished.

I believe it is a nicely toned coin with normal wear in XF condition.

It appears to be XF. A nice coin to be sure.

My vote is XF. If the luster is as good as you say than I'd go xf-45 on it.

XF 40. Not enough luster to grade higher, unless it's prooflike and I'm misreading the photos. All IMO...Mike

I'd say XF, and I agree that at one time this coin was cleaned.

If you can get the right coin grader on the right day, you can get an AU, or at least AU details, out of it. 30 is wayyyy too low.
