Has some spotting, but really lustrous. No wear or rub I can see. 20200102_160147.jpg 20200102_160124.jpg

I can't help but feel like this coin has been cleaned. There seem to be a lot of hairlines on the coin.

Holding it in hand and under a loupe, I honestly DONT believe it has ever been cleaned. Too much mint luster. Pinwheels like a champ.

AU in my opinion. Two key points to look at: notice the discoloration of the high points (such as the lettering on the reverse, and his cheek and jaw bones on the obverse). Those are the points that will receive wear first. This coin has practically zero wear, but that discoloration of the high points indicates circulation.

Second, and more convincingly, look at the reverse fields - especially to the right of ONE, and obverse fields just below his chin. That brown, dull area is a key sign that wear has occurred in the field.

I'd call this coin AU-58, but it appears to be AU in my opinion.

Hard to tell when it's not in hand but I think it has a chance for a low MS grade at a TPG, but don't expect anything lower than AU58. Personally I'd keep it in an album.

I think an MS grade is unlikely because of the placement of the spots and likely circulation wear (maybe a couple of fingerprints too). AU58 feels about right.
