AU or MS?

    Just picked up this 1919 S mercury and wondered if y'all had any thought on whether it is a high AU or low MS

    High AU... i would have to see the coin. It looks like there is a lot of action on the cheek

    I'm saying high AU based on fasces below center band and cheek area wear?--clearer pics perhaps if you have them?

    Your pictures are over exposed. Cannot tell for sure.

    going with an MS-60...but hard to tell with too much light + not enough detail(focus)

    it (obviously) may just be me, but those pictures make the piece look very cleaned.

    Those images don't allow for even a decent look at most of the surfaces. But from the little bit that I can see, I would guess that it's an AU example which has been cleaned or polished.

    I go with Mark on this one, Polished and definitely not FSB

    Would I be correct in assuming that you did not see this coin in hand before purchasing it ?
