Looks legit to me (worn with no seam) but I'm less of an 'expert' than anyone likely to post here... Hope it turns out to be genuine!!
This coin is in no way unique. It is listed merely as "scarce" this is a type 1785 Crosby 1-B and appears to be genuine. Richard
Looks OK. BUT... There is a very deceptive batch of colonial counterfeits on the market. Many have slight corrosion and are worn. If you know where this coin has been in the last five years then IMO it is 98% genuine from the photo.
Thanks for their input! I paid 25 cents for it last year in a coin shop world coin bin. Along with a bunch of cool very early world from the 1700's. He does not like to put very worn, cleaned, or damaged coins out on their main tray so he throws them in the bin. Thanks for the help guys
Extremely good buy! An unattributed Crosby 1-B that was heavily corroded and pitted to the point where it was barely identifiable as a nova got 18 bids and sold for more than $43.
