I was listening to an archived stream from Coin Chat Radio, and it seems a collector is organizing a show at the old San Fran mint building. The guy also said that you will be able to visit the vaults downstairs and other tours.Sounds very interesting!!
id love to hear how this goes, should/if any collectors/dealers there in the area decide to go.

Sounds interesting. After touring the Carson City Mint/Museum the SF Mint should be much more interesting and more intriguing.

Rick Snow and I will be setting up (separately of course!) at this show. I'm really looking forward to it and can't wait to tour the mint myself. It should be really neat to see this old mint and even more fun to have a coin show inside this historical building!

Scott Griffin is the contact person (415-601-8661). Here are the details of the show:

    Friday & Saturday, Nov. 6-7, 10am-6pm
    The Old SF Mint
5th Street between Mission and Market Streets

Born and raised in San Francisco I have had the pleasure of touring the OLD MINT when it was opened to the public. Then the neighborhood, South of Market (SOMA) was pretty run down, but new business have been opening on Mint Street. The exhibits were fascinating. Old furniture, documents and most interesting was this huge gold nugget in a class encased vault for viewing. I also bought many products there in the eighties. If you get this opportunity to visit, please do.
