guys I have been tempting to get an Attica owl coin and this one i am thinking to get for 200 . I know the ones in good condition could go more than 1000 so I settle for this. but since I'm not familiar with this type I like some experts who collect and familiar with this let me know if it is authentic or not. I appreciate your help.
I see nothing about it that makes me doubt it and it looks like a nice example (someone got carried away with the test cut though). However, this is probably the most commonly faked ancient coin out there. I highly recommend buying from a reputable auction house / dealer and NOT from eBay or someone you are unfamiliar with. You cannot hope to make an informed decision on a coin like this from posting it to the forum. If you even have to ask it's probably not worth taking the chance in my opinion. Here's mine
Thanks @Bing does the patina/dirt look natural? You know sometimes forger might try too hard to create dirt and even extra deep test cuts to make it look natural.. You know what I mean? I am just worried this could be one of those hopefully not
yes I agree it is good price I saw most of these with test cuts go for 400+ in auctions so that is why I feel it is too good to be true so I want consult with experts to make sure it is not a trap

So after getting some suggestion I decided not to get the above ebay coin (well its ebay after all ) and decided to get a drachm which is more rare denomination of this and doesnt have the ugly test cut. here it is iron(?) encrustations, edge cracks, obverse off center but full face on flan, Athens mint, weight 4.248g, maximum diameter 15.8mm, die axis 225o, c. 454 - 404 B.C.
