Hi Guys I'm New To This Site, So Thanks For Having Me..
Just Wanted To Say Hi To All And Show You All A Picture Of My Penny Which We Call The Assassination Penny, Some might Think That's A bit Morbid To Call It This, But If You Think About It, Then Its Kind of Fitting To Give This Penny Such A Name...
I come Across This Penny About 1 year Ago In A Bar ;) Overheard A Guy Talking About A Penny That Looks Like It Had Blood Splatter At The Back Of The Head, And Of Course We All Know That Story..
Well I Asked If I Could See The Coin, And Sure As Hell It Looked Like Blood Splatter Coming From The Back Of The presidents Head... And So I Gave It The Name And We Both Had A giggle..
Well I Then Said Id Like To Have It And To Put Me Off The Guy Said A Price In Hope Id Walk Away..lol I bought The Coin At His Price..
I Don't Know What This Mark On The Coin Is Called But As You Can See In The Picture It is A Raised Mark Both At The Back Of The Head And More Inline But A Little Lower..
One Last Thing Is Im Not A Huge Collector Of Coins, But I bought This Coin Because It Was Very Fitting To The Name iv Gave It And Its The Only One Of Its Kind And No One Will Ever Own It..(Unless The Price Is Right ) Maybe .. And We All Like A Natter About Something New In The Coin World...

    It's a gas bubble.
Sometimes this happens to copper plated zinc pennies.
It's common and adds no numismatic value to the coin.
    Good story, though.
    Welcome to CT.

    First, welcome to the neighborhood!

I can't tell from your photo, but are the marks raised or recessed?

Thank You For The Welcome ... Yes Its Maybe Common To Have As You Say Gas Marks On A Coin, But I think Its Very Cool And One Of A Kind To Have Them At The Point They Are, Hence The Name ...

Is it really necessary to capitalize every word you type?

Your missing the point ken, it maybe one among millions of others out there with plating blisters, but its the location of the blisters which is why its called the name iv called it, maybe not a big deal to you or others ,but to me its a big deal, its the only one like it and I have it, and how come since this post 13 others want it? cuz its different and folk like different, I could show you tons of coins iv found while in my 30 years of detecting and some worth many hundreds of dollars but there not like this and lots of folk have them..
Iv never once asked what its worth cuz I don't care , but like one other member said there are folk who buy some crazy things out there on the web which we would think EDITED: Read the rules .. Each to there own my friend..

Look don't care what they say, if nothing at all it is a heck off a conversation piece. You need to see if you can find a Kennedy Half with similar issues....what a pair...and yes it is worth more than a penny, just not in numismatics.

Ethan a few that have seen it sure do get a kick out of it , they see the name and then the coin and are like wow now can see the name you gave it lol ... ken iv been detecting for little over 30 years both for gold and coins, im not a huge coin collector but I do have 1000,s of silvers 90% and 40% which iv found over the years, my main thing is stacking gold and silver and also collect gem stones.

Who's Ken? And I think Ethan was saying that getting a Kennedy with the same characteristic as your penny might be kind of appropriate, seeing how Kennedy was also shot in the head like Lincoln.
