Just wondering how scarce a 1869s quarter is. I got a pretty little toned VF35-XF40 from a group a year or so. I saw the price list, but for some reason check ads in NN and have not seen one for sale. I see the "rarer" 1869 occasionally. Is this one kind of a sleeper date, or am I just unlucky in seeing others for sale very often? I am not concerned about the value per se, just wondering as a date its relative scarcity for curiousity sake. Chris

That is a good discussion. Basically what I take from it is the 69s is not a rarity, but a "better" date, (tier 2) I guess. I never had paid much attention to these, and wouldn't have if I hadn't accidentally purchased one. Interesting. Thanks for the link Eduard.
