I already posted this on another topic, but one of the answer suggested me to go here. Stay with me, I'm new here. Just a coin I bought a while ago at my local collector's store. The markings are in a language that I can't read, and I have no idea what language or where they are from. There's also no years marked on it, or that I can read. I just want to know what it is, and perhaps how much it's worth. Much obliged, folks.
Chinese cash coin, got one like it for 25 cents, I spotted it, if yours is real, it may be worth a fair amount
This one is a Chinese anciet cash coin. Yours was issued in the reign of Emperor Sheng Zu(1662-1722). The obverse legends read Kang Xi Tong Bao (up, down, right and left) and the reverse legends are mint mark in both Chinese and Manchu characters. This one was from Bao Zhang mint which was located in Zhangzhou, Fujian. Bao Zhang is a scarer mint, so yours should worth more than common Kang Xi Tong Bao. I guess some collectors will doubt whether it is a genuine one because the obverse is off-centre. I should admit off-centre is seldom seen in such cash coins, but this is not the proof of a counterfeit. Just on the contrary, I think it is a genuine one. Assur
Yes, definitely a scarcer mint. In fact, I don't believe I own one of those at all. The shen feels right, so I agree its authentic even though slightly offcenter. It can happen, I have a few offcenter cash coins.
