Im new to these coins, I have a couple ASE's and they all have a nice sustained ring when you ding it. This however is not the same for the maple leaf. Everything looks fine on the leaf including the weight. Could this be fake? I also have a 1 oz standing liberty round from sunshine mint and it barley has a ring at all. This has me wondering. Its the same size as the leaf which are smaller then the ASE's

Any help would be much appreciated.

I hate to say it, but while the ring test is still a practical way to identify silver coins, it's not without fault. Invest in a small jewelry scale and measure the exact weight of the coin. You're correct that the Maple Leaf is a smaller coin than the ASE. I hate to sound naive, but silver is barely above $20/oz and Maple Leaf coins are by no means numismatically rare. The likelihood of this being fake is not great, particularly if you bought it from a reputable dealer. That said, if the dimensions are correct and it weight's 1 oz or 31.1 grams, you likely have a silver coin, regardless of the noise you get. And if you don't care about the numismatic value, just acid test it. Maybe to the edge of the coin if you can make out the test, or a non-field area to minimize blotching.
