    I don't think the OP was sharing theses out of his amazement that they where high end works of art, nor did I see him ask for opinions on their level of craftsmanship.

    If I had to hazard a guess, the OP was surfing the interwebs and found them interesting, be cause it's not every day you see Mermaid Man or Apu painted on a coin.

    I for one enjoyed the off beat post, as did my son. Thanks for sharing @manymore

    Years ago at the local art gallery here they had a showing of an artist who painted landscapes, on Lincoln cents. And they weren't bad, fairly well detailed.
