Since Covid this seems to be the norm. On April 20 I won a eBay a lot of 5 early date Lincoln cents that were shipped on the day of purchase and were in Denver 2 days later. Tracking sat there and never moved so on June 20 (2 months later) I notified the seller and they promptly refunded the purchase price. On July 17 (3 months) they made an appearance in my mail box, 3 months late. I contacted the seller and wanted to return the payment and the reply was to gift me the coins. This brings me to a eBay purchase made on June 8 and I do have my fingers crossed. This one made it from Europe to within 50 miles of my home on June 26 where I saw it gradually make it's way back to Europe again and on July 18, it has again made it from Europe to within 50 miles from my home only to be sent farther away and back again Here is the tracking and it is some really weird $huff arriving at , departing and being returned to my regional my distributor twice in the last 2 days.If this seems confusing have some pity on me trying to track this one. Not surprising. I have a package that has been sitting in the town I live in for a week and no one can tell me when it will be delivered.
I've got a coin coming from Finland. It hasn't passed its due date so no concern -- yet. And it's inexpensive, but one I've been after for a few years. We'll see. I suspect COVID-19 is causing the postal system some grief.
Our postal service is great even during this crazy time no problems that bother me anyway. In my opinion.
You're one of the fortunate ones. I'm retired from the postal service. I was also in management. Service has declined and it's getting worse.
I have a group of 8 coins purchased 07 March 2020 and also a further 7 coins paid for on 09 April 2020, all from the same seller in India. I am still waiting for them, perhaps I should look for the tracking number. I did have a group of coins from another seller in India, bought in March of this year, finally arrive a week ago. When I tried to "contact seller" about the first mentioned batches of coins, ebay would not allow it. I contacted ebay customer service and started off by saying how much ebay sucks. Never heard back from them, wonder why?
I am an American who lives in Thailand. I had to stop buying from Canada, and almost entirely stop from buying from America, due to over 50% lost in transit (and the sky high prices!). I can only assume it is due to thievery, and it makes me feel sad. I do great buying from Europe, Ukraine, India (well, before the plague struck), and other places in Asia as well. I have found the postal service here in Thailand to be very organized and honest.
I had a morgan I bought from a guy in florida and some how it got shiped to washington dc,ontario, then detroit, then finaly got sent to baton rouge and then to my house in louisiana. A entire 2 months had passed.
At least you got it. The machines must have been reading the zip code incorrectly and not a single clerk knew what to do to fix the problem. So sad and postal service has gone downhill.
Hire the handicapped. As in, mentally deficient. Oh heck, am I gonna get busted for saying something non PC? A thousand pardons O Mighty moderators.
After arriving in Buffalo (my local distribution center) for the fourth time this one finally found me. I expected to find something wrong or unclear in the addressing but all the info was correct and could be plainly read. (including the scan code) I hope this isn't the new norm!
I got a trainee clerk yesterday. I needed to ship a registered package that I had already put stamps on and a pre-paid express package. Totally blue-screened him until help could arrive.
