This guy is selling 2 consecutive CU 1981 twenties and the auction ends in a few hours and is only at $5 over face value with no bids... http://cgi.ebay.com/20-FRN-SERIES-1981_W0QQitemZ8341433741
you never know in 50 years who will be looking for that type, series, and date to complete... for $8.00 over face (with shipping) its not a bad bet.... who knew in 1923 that thousands of people whould want that very $1.00 ??? ..or that very 1896 5.00 educational note
Hmmm...They do cat. for quite a bit more than what he has it started at and they are consecutive on top of that. I did buy a strap of 10 consecutive 88A fives from him for only $58.30 but I haven't gotten them yet. If no one bids I may buy them just so they don't get spent or deposited at a bank as they are just from his fathers estate.
in 1995 i bought 100 $1 bills from a bank. A full strap of just recieved bills from the reserve. 100 consecutive pristine bills. Now they still may only be worth $1 each... but ya never know 50 years from no
I'm guessing those bills are '93s? I don't work right now but I could still buy them I guess if no one else bids. Hate to see them spent...
i cant make out the date - image too blurry. Might be stock photos as well... might be a good idea to call - he gives the serial number but not the dat in the auction. Either way, the design shown is pre-update to the currency ..... however, dont let me be one to lecture , but if i didnt work, i would dream, but not buy. Heck - i do work, and can only mostly dream
Hehe. Those are the actual bills. The seller isn't a dealer so I believe he's taken actual pictures of what you're buying. If he was more knowledgeable about currency he would probably get more bids. If I were him I'd put "CU consective series 1981 twenties" in the title or there abouts...
