Were these printed on the same run? The numbers seem pretty close, the also are of the same letter block and series. I'm just curious because it would be a strange coincidence if it is considering they were found a year apart at two different banks in my town. They are in different conditions, one has writing on it, one doesn't. Is it possible?
I would say yes, from the same run. They've seen lots of circulation. Did you get them together or separately?
Separately, one year apart at completly different banks. I have also gotten two star notespecially from the same run one year apart, one as change from the coin shop and other in change somewhere else.
From runs 180 and 182, for what it's worth. The 1953B $2 was a pretty short series, with just 30 runs printed (10.8 million notes total, serials A63360001A to A74160000A). So it's not surprising that, if you find two of them, the serials are fairly close.
