Are these buffaloes type ones?

    I’ve been out of it for awhile and a little rusty. They’re all dateless so they’re not worth much either way but are these type ones? Thanks.

    All appear to be Type I.

    Yes. ...but you might want to use Nic-A-Date to see if a mint mark shows up. The 1913-D and 1913-S are scarcer than the 1913-P.

    The reason why the Type I reverse was changed so quickly in 1913 was that it was thought to be subject to abnormal wear. This group of coin provides some proof for that. The trouble is mint officials did not realize that the problem was even worse for the date on the obverse.

    Thanks everyone.

    One of them. I think the top left in the picture looks like it has a D but I have to look at it in better light.

    They didn't care about the date. They were more worried about someone with gold paint and a repeat of the early v nickle.
