I've purchased coins on ebay, but is there anyother auctions, that work alot like Ebay ? there are just some coins, I can't find, so I'm in hopes ,someone could give me some helpful advice. thanks' in Advance ! chasindreams'hya:
I think there's nothing like Ebay, even though tons of others try to be like them. The size and reach of Ebay just can't be matched. Having said that, I think there is a lot to consider about trading/buying/selling coins within a tight knit community like Coin Talk. We have a small marketplace here, but the benefit of dealing with people in the community is that you get to know the people you're dealing with by reading what they've posted. Some people put significant effort into there posts and being part of the community, and seeing that might give you a sense of their ability to grade coins, and give you a feeling of trust that you don't get on a place like Ebay where the sheer numbers of people and listings makes it feel impersonal by the nature of it.
There's a couple of coin auction houses that do coins and collectables. http://www.ha.com is Heritage Coins for one.
Not sure what you're looking for but if it's U.S. there is a growing site that many members of CoinTalk belong to: CoinBug http://www.coinbug.com/
This small auction house is run by a friend of mine who I stand behind as being ethical and trustworthy: http://www.capitol-auctions.com/ He has an auction coming up July 19th and one can bid on-line through proxybid.
there's a new site I just ran across, www.coinwants.com, that looks like its going to take a run at ebays status
