From what I understand, the odds of finding a radar in circulation, are relatively slim, compared to finding, say, a star note, in circulation. I know there are some folks here who collect all stars that they find, and others who will only save them if they are from a very low run, and/or the condition of the note, warrants it being saved. Is the same true for radar notes? Do some people save them regardless, while others spend them, unless they are desirable condition? I ask, because I got this bad boy out of the ATM, this morning: It's my first radar find, and I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with it. It is in average circulated condition. Setting it aside, for now.
Any radar is a keeper for sure. Yours looks like it is a series 2006. If it is, it is from the last of 15 runs with a total of 96 million, printed in DC during April, 2009.
I keep all of the radars & repeaters I find in circulation and actively seek out notes of this type that incorporate the serial number 12. I prefer notes that are CH-CU, but am happy with everything.
Ok, thanks everybody. I usually don't save notes with a face value over $10, but I do make exceptions when appropriate, and when I can. It's looking like the $20 I found, is worthy of one of those exceptions. Btw, very nice notes, Steve. If I find anything that I think may interest you, for your "12" collection, I'll drop you a line.
