Are 1982, 1983 circulated nickels and dimes worth saving?

I'm kind of new to CRH and I was looking through the red book the other day and I notice that MS-65 nickels and dimes are valued at significantly more than coins from adjacent years, but the mintage figure doesn't seem too out of what like for 2009. What is going on here are the 1982s and 83s worth saving like the 2009's? If so why are they discordant in value from surrounding years?

1982 and 1983 coins are tough to find in MS condition because the U.S. Mint did not produce uncirculated sets like they have in most other years. They did make "souvenir" sets that were sold in the mint gift shops at the time, but those are pretty rare.

For other years, MS coins can be found in really good shape by just cutting them out of an uncirculated set. For 1982 and 1983, MS coins are (1) found in circulation and somehow - in 30 years - were not abused or (2) were obtained in '82 or '83 and stuck in a coffee can or something and not circulated. Both options are rare.
