i am probably in the wrong spot; or I didn't find the ten other posts on this, but I did look so don't flame me too much!

I'm new to looking for errors, and going through a box of pennies tonight I think I found a ddo on a 1974d AU cent

Erty of liberty, and e trust of in God we trust.

I ordered a microscope for my phone and iPad, but won't have it for a few days; so can't post pictures of it.

Still trying to figure out if it's a ddo or ... Double strike? Think it's termed. From what I gather, the double strike will be lower than the initial letter, but the ddo will be even. I have found a couple coins that double strike seems to be correct, the extra image seems lower, closer to the surface. This looks different to me, so I ordered the microscope to post a picture, if it has any value other than the cool and neat factor.

Before I spend way too much more time on this, wanted to know if there was an intrinsic value to this. I know that this is on several lists to watch for; but cannot find a relative value for it.

Either way it was a neat find and am happy with finding it.

Thank you for your time and providing such a happy, information laden forum. I have spent hours reading posts here

I finally got my microscope. I went through a couple hundred pennies that I had set aside. Found a filled d and a few double strikes. I just can't figure this one out. I think it's just a double strike, but the Rs look really weird to me. Mint mark looks off too.

Thank you for that link. It helped me tremendously.

Maybe there is nothing odd about this coin at all, just looks different to me. Better safe than sorry. Tried to take photos with lights from different directions.

Thank you for your time and experience.
