It has been suggested to me that this coin is one of the Archbishop of Valencia (Spain) 13th Century A.D., but I am unable to confirm this. (I am not sure of the orientation.)
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

A strange cross! And that must be a castle on the reverse. Don't see any bishop's staff. Sorry, I don't know anything about Spanish coinage. Can you make anything from the lettering?

I think you misunderstood the hint that was given ?
I think they meant "Valence" in France, not "Valencia" in Spain.
That has the "Croix pommee"and bird/angel with wings on the reverse.
Compare with the ones here: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/french-denier.275182/
