If so, what are your thoughts, opinions and experiences? http://www.air-tites.com/air-tite_coin_albums.htm Thanks!!
I tried them once, to be honest, I didn't really care for them. I like collecting an entire series and to do that, it would take many, many books to do one series. It is a nice archival quality and I do use one for my type set.
I don't use AirTites for coins, but I do have about 300 casino chips in them. Let's see......at 24 per album, I would need 13 @ $29.95 or $389.35 plus shipping. No thanks! I'll continue to use these which I got free following a Stack's auction at the FUN Show one year. Chris
I use the airtite albums for most of my coins and medals. The only problem I have encountered are with the H and I pages for the albums. Sometimes the airtite fits too loosely in the hole. For storing medals or other non-classic coin series, the ringed airtites fit best.
Yes, this was foremost in my mind. I can see some of my type or world coins in the Ait-tite albums but for a long US series, even just proof releases I'm accumulating, it would be an arduous and expensive task. Thanks.
I have used both A and H class, A class to store my gold coins and H class my 1 oz silver coins. Here are some issues i have encountered. Some times the airtite don't properly fit into the card holds, don't jam them in there chances are airtite might actually flip open. The velcro are whatever it is on the cards often dirties the coin holders. Plastic sleeves to hold the cards are finger print magnets be sure to use your cotton gloves when fliping around. Don't discard the black box and whtie cover that comes with album. It is makes a great way to store your albums.
Hope someone knows the answer to this....I would like to buy air tites for my one ounce silver coins from around the world,ie:canadian wildlife, philharmonics, etc.does anyone know if they will fit securely in the H type capsule, the ones made for SAEs??or do I need to get a smaller airtitie?I would appreciate any insight on this and thank you in advance.
Measure your coins diameter, can use the desired on here; http://www.jpscorner.com/AirTite_Ring_Type_AirTite_Coin_Holders.htm
The nice part about the ring airtite holder is that you do not need an exact fit. The ring will accomodate a slightly larger coin. BTW you probably will need the I rings not the H.
The problem with the airtite albums that while it looks nice, it doesn't hold enough coins. Factor in the cost of pages and albums you end up spending quite a bit of money on supplies. Now if they made a larger album and pages even if it costs more it would be worth it.
