I've yet to go to the bank. Did anyone start seeing these new 2004A $10 bills to come out? Look, a star already: http://cgi.ebay.com/10-2004-A-STAR-BEAUTIFUL-SUPERB-GEM-NEW_W0QQitemZ8393171724QQcategoryZ40029QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
thats kinda of funny that they are asking $80 or more for one * note when currently at the bep you can order a sheet of four for around the same give or take ten bucks. you can order a sheet of eight for $127.
And people are willing to pay that much. I'm going to the bank tomorrow so I'll see if they have any. Maybe I'll get a hundred worth or something........then sell on Ebay for $20 each!
Now that the "new " $10 is in place..you should be buying all the old $10 you can find in Gem Crisp 66... Not gonna make em any more ya know!! RickieB
I have to get my mail at the Post Office (no home delivery). Yesterday, after picking up my CW, I walked to the bank. The teller behind the counter saw the cover photo of the new $10 FRNs, and said they had received them already. Had a whole stack of them in the back. I got excited. Then she proceeded to tell me they couldn't pass them out until they got through the previously ordered 'older style' notes. ARGH!
Ive seen them in circulation for a couple weeks. Yesterday i had one with the serial # 41105110, I almost kept it for being somewhat of a ladder note, but it was part of a bankroll to buy other bills/coinage so i spent it (kicking myself now)
My bank is playing with them. When you get cash, every other note is a new $10. Nice all new, crisp and consecutive. Almost hate to spend them. Oh well.
they seperate them so the new crisp bills are seperated by older non-crisp bills. This helps prevent 'sticking'. One of the banks i deal with turns each odd note upside down and turn 180 degrees for the same reason.....
The new ones are nice, a bit crowded. I still cant believe the $80 auction for a $10 dollar bill that you can get at the bank at face value... Why is everyone writing $10 in red?
10s in florida My local bank in Florida has ordered them, but has not received them, however two have been brought in and both were "bought" by the senior tellers. My local supermarket has received one and it went to the night manager. They will be abundant soon.
I thought that a while back, but realized now, the 1996, 1999, and 2001 $20 and $50 bills are still around. I see more "big face" $50 bills than colorized. Now I'm anxious to see the new $100! Let's get movin' , people!
Did you do a search with the word "$10" in it? If so, it highlights the searched words in a thread when you open a thread from the search results.
just wondering, what stacks does the $10 come in at the bank? (like, a roll of 50cents is $10, or 20 coins) so i can ask for a full stack of the new $10 with the serial numbers in order story time (involving the new $10 bill): i was waiting in line at a burger king last night, and over heard the cashier saying "this bill is fake". so i looked over to see what's going on and saw the casheir handing back the (new) $10 bill. the customer took it back, looked at it, and probably also thought that it was fake (since they've never seen it before). so now it probably ended up in some trash can somewhere, answering some "trash digger's" (homeless guy's) prayer, haha
You should have offered to buy it from him. Tell him you collect "counterfeit" bills and offer him $5 for it. Hee hee hee
I have one Picked up a new $10 two days ago and have verified it if not a copy. Looks nice in its place with its older brothers and sisters.
