anyone seen a coin error like this before?

    dimes 1.jpg dimes 2.jpg looks as if it was stamped too hard also the edge of the coin is smooth and copper all the way around.

    It's a spooned/dryer coin. Post-mint damage.

    Sorry not an error. Post Mint Damage. That is what is called a spooned or hammered coin. They strike the edge of the coin to flatten it down. Sometimes they drill the center out, file it down and make a small ring. We see these a lot by new members. Here is a picture of an example.
