Anyone recognize his counterstamp or have any information about it? it's on an 1802 large cent. I've looked for it before and couldn't find it or any kind of value or info.
My only concern is the counter stamp doesn't show any wear like the coin does. It must be comparatively recent?
I am fairly certain from the stamp in hand that it is fairly old. I wouldn't say any newer than the mid 1800s probably
The only C.F. Hamblen I could find was this: http://www.trolleyblogs.com/tag/c-f-hamblen-hardware Much older than 1802.
