I've always wondered about whether anyone actually reads all the answers to some of the posting where there are vertually hundreds of replys. For instance, I just noticed one with 755 answers. Is there actually anyone that read all of them? If you post and answer to a thread that is in the hundreds do you yourself go looking for it to see if it is there? If you posted a Thread and there is hundreds of responses, do you read all of them? If the thread is about something really in your interest, do you print it out? I find myself printing out educational threads about coins.
Other than those posts made in the General Discussion Forum, I have read every post there is on Coin Talk. No, I have never printed them out. But I have on occasion saved certain post with information I wanted to keep to a computer file.
On threads that I start or am specially interested in I can always find the spot/date that I left off at.
There are a couple of ways to keep on top of all the new postings without having to reread entire lengthy threads. When you first go to a thread, under the big "Post Reply" button there is a smaller "View First Unread" button, which will take you to the first post you haven't seen in the thread, no matter what page it is on. (I don't think this works if you log out and log in again each time you visit the forujm.) Also, if you use the "New Posts" button at the top of each page, there is a right-pointing arrow next to the last poster's name in the "Last Post" column. Click on that arrow and it will take you to the very last post in the thread, and you can scroll up until you see a post you have already read, and then work your way back down.
Well "Just Carl" I read all of the posts in this thread and I knew most of the words. Generally speaking I stick to World Coins and the discussion group where when I find a thread of interest I read it all.
I respond to about 3/4 of the threads I read. Once I start reading a thread I'll read the entire thing and this is doubly true if I've posted. I read only about 20% of the threads though.
I guess my answer to this question is going to suggest I need to get a life. But, yes, I not only read all the posts , but find some of them most interesting. Two that I have read more thsn once include "Interesting Finds....," and the one about Kennedy Half Dollars. I don't necessarily read them all in one sitting, but catch up on the new ones once I have logged in. So, yep, I read them all. Save some of the threads? Sometimes. Usually by cut-and-paste.
If it's an interesting enough topic... I love the "interesting finds in circulation" thread... has made me excited about paying attention to my change again, lol.
I read all I can....with school and such I don't have the time I wish I had to sit and read every post. For the most part I read every thread in the Coin Chat--US Coin forum--Introductions--FAQ--Whats Its Worth--Error Coins--Contests--Support and Feedback--Test Forum--OPEN forum--Auction Forum. Sometimes I'll miss a few here or there...and some posts like the one about Kennedys...I haven't had time to read every one yet.... Paper money and World money is ok...and I read it every-now-and-then but since I don't know much about that kind of topic I don't post much. Speedy
I used to read every single post here on Coin Talk. Nowadays, it's a bit too busy for me to keep up with everthing. Not sure if that's a blessing or a curse.
