I don't have one but I've heard there were a limited amount of American Gold Eagle Coins 1/10 oz with a W error. Does anyone know anything about this error? Where is the W located? Anyone have one? My guess is the UNC gold eagles were minted with the proof reverse, anyone know where a pic is located?
In 1995 some 1/10 and 1/4 oz W mint proof dies were not shipped out for polishing and were instead used to strike business strike quality bullion pieces. So they are bullion coins with W mintmarks.
Here's one, look at the year and the price. I wonder how many are out there? Does anyone know where the W is located on the coin? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MS-69-1999-W-ERROR-5-American-Eagle-1-10-Gold-Coin-Certified-NGC-NO-RESERVE-/321063626346?pt=Bullion_US&hash=item4ac0e2266a
