We are having our second baby and just found out that "It's a boy!" Our first son, Richard, was so named because it's an old family name on both her side and my side of the families. With our expecting baby boy we are coming up with a fresh name. We have the first name of Ryan picked out and have a short list of middle names that we are considering. Somewhat surprisingly to me, my sweet wife (who happens to fully support my coin buying) likes both middle names that are of numismatic origins. Please vote on the poll for which you like! Has anyone here intentionally put in a numismatic related name for one of their children? If so, let's hear them!
I knew someone who named her daughter Morgan. There's also Thaler. Which would really be cool if the first or middle name is Daler. And if they grew up to be a coin dealer they could be Daler Thaler the coin retailer.
No. One is named after a rock n roll star and the other I just really liked the name. But dont' go with Ryan Carson. both end in 'un' sounds and that doens't go well.
Nah...I was having dinner (I work odd hours, so it was late for dinnertime that night, as you can see by the time I posted it). Though, after 'cracking one open', it hit me again, and I did chuckle out loud with a mouthful of brew!! I got a serious visual with that line.... "I named my son Q David Bowers Kozak"...now, picture Q.D.B.'s head on a babies body!!! LOL!! Honestly, with that visual, it was the funniest thing I've read/heard/etc, in a good few days...thanks for the 'big chuckles, bkozak!!
I don’t know, some take this hobby too far. Help is available. But then, I do know a non-numismatist named Carson Cartwheel. I think all the ribbing he got turned him off to the hobby.
I have to agree with Kasia on the double "un" sounds not working. Ryan Walker sounds better. I didn't name either daughter for numismatics but since my older one is named Victoria, she did influence my direction for collecting.
